New Year, New You?

Happy new year!

Tis the season to be punishing and unrealistic with the best intentions. Time to scream at your self in the mirror 'your disgusting!'. By New Years Eve I'm so looking forward to stripping away the sticky sweetness of the Yuletide season. I see New Years Eve as one more opportunity to have a massive blowout, big hair, bold make up, and jagerbombs, jagerbombs, jagerbombs!

I have a long list of things New Years Resolutions that I really want to implement this year.

First of all I really want to learn to

***Shut The Hell Up***

because....
  1. Don't talk more than other people participating in conversations.
  2. Awkwardness, if you can't think of anything interesting to say- DON'T!
  3. When angry belt up or walk away before you say something awful.
'Oops, accidentally mortally wounded our friendship, my bad!'

There's a New Years Resolution that a lot of people make or secretly hope for that everyone can probably sympathise with.

*** I Will Find Love****

Umm...no you won't. Love will find you on it's own terms. When and where it feels like it. The time you look for it, you are least likely to find it.

***Diet Riot***

Okay first of all...Eww!

I love food too much to turn it into an enemy.

But I want to change my relationship with food like I want to change my relationship with shopping. I don't want it to be a comfort blanket for when I feel like throwing myself off of something high and onto something pointy. That's a dangerous habit and one of my worst.

Also while I'm here.

***Dress like it's my last day every day***

I guess overall, my new years resolution is to be the best I can be, a little bit better than last year.

To live life as vigorously and optimistically as I can.

And

***When life gives me lemons- make margaritas! ***

All the best for 2013.

Outfits Outfits Outfits

I have not been able to post as much as recently as I wanted because my internet is attempting, in it's own frustrating way, to ruin my life.

I have therefore a back log of pictures that have been taken of outfits that I thought were cute enough to bother the world with.

Without further ado (unless 02 has other ideas)...

The first outfit was something I wanted to post on look.nu, but none of the pictures were of a decent quality. Thus is life. Hope you like it as it's made almost exclusively from hand me downs. Shorts courtesy of a friend
Flick, cardigan from my sister, blouse from my Ma Shoes from Bershka (How I love you all)!

This one was taken in Westfield shopping centre in Stratford- affectionately nicknamed 'Stratfield'. The skirt is from New Look, Boots are Doc Martin and the top is ancient from Hnm. I love maxi skirts. They make me feel so elegant, except of course when I trip over them- the joys of 5'3"!

This here was clumsily inspired by a girl I saw in a shop and the Devil Wears Prada- I wanted to look expensive- doubtless I failed. But I believe it was a valiant try, and that's what counts right...right?

And yet again another attempt at a suave-ish look.

Well that's all for now!

Until next time.

A New Look?

I was browsing through the web, and ended up watching one of 2ne1's videos- one called 'I am the best'. It was fairly recent, 2011, and quickly became a firm favourite of mine. The lyrics are kind of narcissistic if you look at it from a negative perspective- but it's a great strutting song if your feeling confident. I was feeling confident when I put together this look which is partially inspired by what's worn in the video. It was more thrown then put with no make up or hair effort. I just thought it was kinda cool.

Most of the items are from new look, the skirt was damaged and on sale so I had to sow the waistband. I don't think I can sow it back. The ring is from the concessions brand of New Look jewellery and I bought it a couple of months back so I don't know whether or not this is still available.

The spikes are available in both gold and silver. The necklace is actually for jeans but I like how chunky it is so I stuck it around my neck instead!

The jacket was a hand-me-down from my wonderful Auntie Clare. I love the shoes, I snagged them for a tenner at New Look to- I love you discount~!

The second look was random- I fell in and out of my wardrobe and think I got lucky. What do you think?

I wanted something cute with pastels that looked a little nautical because I'm still not over my sailor phase. I'll get a few more years out of those shorts- I'm determined! For a semi-accident, I think I did rather well here. And I'm definitely using my afro to it's full potential this spring/summer!

Bring on the sun, the rain, the joy and the pain!

That was so lame...
